IonQ Shares Rip After Outstanding Q4 And 2026 Outlook

IonQ, Inc.

IonQ stock price ripped the tape following the last quarter earnings release, jumping about 20% on the day. For fourth quarter 2025, IonQ reported revenue of $61.9 million, which the company said was 55% above the midpoint of its implied guidance range and 429% higher than a year earlier. For full year 2025, it reported $130.0 million of revenue, up 202% year over year and 20% above the midpoint of its prior range, which IonQ said marked the first time a public quantum company cleared $100 million of annual GAAP revenue.

The outlook helped turn the excitement into something investors can actually track. IonQ guided 2026 revenue of $225 million to $245 million, including $48 million to $51 million in the first quarter, with $235 million as the midpoint target. It also described 2025 as a shift toward broader commercial traction, noting that more than 60% of 2025 revenue came from commercial customers and more than 30% from international sales. Add in nearly 80% year over year organic growth in 2025 and an expectation for even higher organic growth in 2026, and the message is that the growth engine is becoming repeatable.

IonQ backed the platform thesis with specifics, highlighting an expanded agreement with QuantumBasel that brought the partnership value to over $60 million. It also pointed to the sale of a fifth generation 100 qubit system to KISTI, the deployment of large scale operational national quantum networks in Switzerland, Slovakia, and Romania, and its selection by DARPA for Phase B of the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative, signs that interest is turning into identifiable projects and counterparties. IonQ is pitching quantum computing, networking, sensing, and security as one integrated platform, aiming to turn quantum into something that sells in bundles, not one off experiments.

None of this is being marketed as a low calorie build. IonQ reported $3.3 billion of cash, cash equivalents, and investments as of December 31, 2025, alongside an adjusted EPS loss of $0.20 and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $67.4 million in Q4. For 2026, it guided to an adjusted EBITDA loss of $330 million to $310 million, and it noted the outlook does not include any impact from the pending SkyWater acquisition, which it expects to close in the second or third quarter of 2026. From here, the core bet is to keep converting the pipeline into revenue, keep organic growth doing it's thing, and use that $3.3 billion cushion to build the platform without turning “investment phase” into a permanent lifestyle.
