KBR Scores A Space Force Task Order

KBR just added another payload to its backlog with a new $77 million government contract. The firm-fixed-price task order is listed under the U.S. Space Force (USSF) 'Decision Support for Headquarters Analysis' contract, and was announced February 5, 2026. KBR’s latest win is all about enhancing digital engineering and assured communications capabilities at USSF - and a 'KBR is still on their short list' flex for Wall Street.

This award is about modernizing how the Space Force builds, tests, and deploys capabilities — specifically digital engineering and assured communications — with the work flowing through AFRL’s Integrated Capabilities Directorate and USSF Space Systems Command (SSC). The project is set to run over a three-year period of performance, with work in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.

KBR says the team will run end-to-end experimentation across multiple systems, scale what works to real-world mission speed and volume, and help transition solutions onto government digital infrastructures. KBR describes its role as delivering systems engineering, cybersecurity expertise, software development, and strategic communications, using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)-driven architecture and services, aligned with broader Air Force and Department of War digital transformation initiatives - Or, we could just say "high-value technical services with staying power".

KBR is clearly hinting that this is more than a one-off. They mention the award builds on four years of proven performance supporting AFRL and Space Force missions, and its Defense/Intel/Space leadership positioned it as another step in strengthening defense capabilities. The quick-and-dirty is, when your customer list includes "Space Force", you don’t just have time — you have orbit time.
