Patria Investments Scales With WP Global Acquisition

2 Minute Read • Posted Feb 02, 2026

Patria Investments Limited said Feb. 2, 2026 it agreed to acquire WP Global Partners, describing WP as a U.S.-based private equity solutions manager focused on the lower middle market. With the deal, Patria is positioning itself as the kind of “global platform” that shows up to the U.S. private markets not only with a name badge, but with extra GP relationships - and an extra $1.8 billion in fee-earning assets.

The transaction has an all-cash base price equal to 1.7% of fee-earning Assets Under Management (AUM) - plus an all-cash earn-out - which is subject to performance parameters, payable in 2029. Patria also said it expects the deal to be accretive to Free Revenues (FRE) and Distributable Earnings (DE) in the first year.

Patria said WP was founded in 2005, has offices in New York and Chicago, and employs 30 people - including more than 10 experienced investment professionals. WP Global has deployed over $6 billion across a diverse range of sectors in the US, which not only helps manage risk but also positions Patria to leverage WP Global's insights and relationships across these industries. Patria framed the integration as expanding U.S. presence plus investment and fundraising capabilities, complementing its existing Private Equity Solutions business.

Patria has 37 years of experience and over $51 billion in AUM across five core asset classes, and that its Global Private Markets Solutions fee-earning AUM is projected to be more than $13.3 billion, with nearly 40% of investments in U.S. assets. The deal is a strategy of scale-and-scope — adding more U.S. footprint, more mid-market exposure, and another set of U.S. fundraising muscles to its platform.
